Agni Hotra—a fire ceremony with universal effectiveness
"Heal the atmosphere and the atmosphere heals you."
Do it yourself
Thousands of years ago Vedic and Ayurvedic scriptures indicated that a time of great pollution was coming. Fire techniques have been recommended as a way out, of which Agnihotra is the basic one. It works according to the law of resonance: "Heal the atmosphere and the healed atmosphere heals you." We, the non-profit association "Homa-Hof Heiligenberg e.V.", want to show you where the knowledge comes from, how it works, what incredible successes can be achieved with it in all areas of life and how you can learn it easily and free of charge - to your blessing and the entire earth. Many who experience Agnihotra for the first time are immediately drawn to it. An inner peace fills her and a feeling of familiarity sets in. This is understandable, because knowledge about it seems to be embedded in our genes. Fire ceremonies like this are thousands of years old and have been performed almost all over the world, as evidenced by lore and fire temple remains. Agnihotra creates a beneficial connection between heaven and earth. In the Vedas, the fire ceremonies are called Yagna (Sanskrit: yajña) or Homa. Today they are also often referred to as pyramid fire (because of the shape of the vessel required) or peace fire (because of the harmonizing effect). The basic and most important Yagna is Agnihotra, performed at sunrise and sunset. It has been revived by Shree in a way that makes it easy to learn for anyone interested, regardless of nation, religion or class. Agnihotra follows the principle: "Heal the atmosphere and the atmosphere heals you." Atmosphere means both the air envelope around our planet and the subtle atmosphere that influences our mood and our actions. Through Agnihotra there is a very strong harmonization and purification both on the subtle level and in the physically measurable area. The positive effects of Agnihotra are the result of the interplay of various aspects: Singing certain sounds (Vedic mantras) harmoniously transforms atmosphere and mind. The Agnihotra Pyramid has a geometrically perfect shape through which energies are amplified and directed. The ingredients used primarily have a cleaning effect. Observing the biorhythms is also crucial. Agnihotra uses these factors to create an incomparable purification and healing phenomenon. The Vedic Fire Ceremony Agnihotra is easy to learn and only takes about 10 to 15 minutes. At sunrise and sunset, some rice is put into the burning fire and a mantra is sung. For Agnihotra, dried cow dung and ghee are mixed in a pyramid-shaped copper vessel. burns. Rice with ghee is put into the flame exactly at sunrise and sunset a mantra is sung, which is precisely tuned to the vibrational conditions at these times. What you need for Agnihotra: • Agnihotra bowl • dried cow dung • Ghee (rendered, clarified butter, clarified butter) • (Organic) brown rice (whole uncooked grains) • small bowl • Times table for sunrise and sunset for your place • accurate (e.g. radio-controlled) clock • secure knowledge of the mantras • matches (no lighter) • heat-resistant base • some kind of smoke outlet in the room • a windbreak outdoors (possibly privacy screen) Place the Agnihotra bowl on a heat-resistant surface, e.g. B. a stone slab or a brick. A special copper stand can also be useful. The sides (not the corners) of the shell should, if possible, be aligned with the four cardinal points. Take a small bowl and mix some brown rice with ghee in it. You need twice the amount you hold between your thumbs, hold your middle and index fingers. In order for the cow dung to burn well, you should store it in a warm and dry place. In winter, it helps to keep a few pieces in a basket over the heater. Cut or break the cow dung into suitable pieces before use. To light it, it is best to use a loose, narrow piece of cow dung that has been thinly coated on both sides with ghee or briefly dipped in liquid ghee.
evening mantra: Ag - na - ye svā - hā, ag - na - ye i - dam na ma - ma, pra-jā-pa-ta-ye svā-hā, pra-jā pa-ta-ye i-dam na ma-ma. Sūr - yā - ya svā - hā, sūr - yā - ya i - dam na ma - ma, morning mantra: pra-jā-pa-ta-ye svā-hā, pra-jā pa-ta-ye i-dam na ma-ma. For pronunciation: j = dsch v = w A, i and u are pronounced briefly; e, ū and ā are long vowels; In the morning mantra, contrary to scripture, the first word "Sūryāya" is sung with the ending "ye", i.e. "Sūryāye". This is what Shree, who revived Agnihotra, once said. The notes are intended as a learning aid and can only approximate the rhythm. The main fuel used in Agnihotra is dried cow dung. How it is placed in the Agnihotra bowl is up to you. It is favorable to place a piece (or several small ones) as a base on the bottom of the to put bowl. Then spread some prepared pieces of cow dung thinly on both sides with ghee. The drier the cow dung, the less ghee you need a thin piece three to five minutes before sunrise or sunset cow dung, lay it diagonally over the one on the ground and layer several cow pieces of dung loosely about it. Make sure that the air can circulate well. There should be enough space on top for the rice. Another option is to criss-cross cow dung strips over the base piece Stack loosely, leaving some space in the middle. Here then inserted the burning piece of cow dung. With this method you need a lot little ghee. Please do not use a lighter to light it, but rather a short or long one Matches. Be careful not to drop the match head into the Agnihotra bowl reached. It is also possible to start with a thin piece of wood or a candle (preferably a beeswax candle) and then the cow dung piece. Then extinguish the candle again because its smoke is annoying exposed to the Agnihotra smoke. If you are performing Agnihotra outside, a windbreak may be necessary. At the time of sunrise or sunset - the fire should be burning well - you sing this Mantra and after the word "svaha" add a pinch of rice mixed with ghee to the flames. The mantra is only chanted once. There are no further actions or utensils required lich. Sit or stand by the fire until it goes out beautiful, and enjoy the pure atmosphere and the Peace. If possible, let the Agnihotra bowl up to the next implementation. outdoors you can the vessel with a refractory tile or a Cover the copper sheet to prevent a draft or A gust of wind blows out embers.
